Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on December 9, 1968. Resident of Bayamón, Puerto Rico since 1969 and 1986 graduate student of Nuestra Señora de Belén private school (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico). She conducted her undergraduate studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Bayamón.
Sanz began to draw at an early age, inheriting the artistic talent of her father, who was an excellent sketcher and enthusiastic painter. During her adolescence, she began experimenting with charcoal sketching, a technic she worked with for many years before finally deciding to begin working with acrylic colors in the year 2000.
Studied Drawing and Basic Painting in the Art Students League of Old San Juan, under the guardianship of Puerto Rican artist and art professor: Sergio Centeno. Sanz was invited to participate in "Noches de Nostalgia y Bohemia", an artistic celebration held by the Mayor of Bayamón. Her work was also informally shown in Flowers & Gallery, a now closed, picturesque gallery located in Old San Juan, before the artist's first professional exhibition: "El Objeto del Deseo" (Hato Rey, Puerto Rico - 08/30/2006).
The artist participated in important international exhibitions in Cuenca, Ecuador, Frankfurt, Germany and Miami, Florida (USA) during the year 2007, as well as having her first solo exhibition held at Duey, Galería de Arte located in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. She has also collaborated with non-profit organizations such as Ballet de San Juan (Hato Rey, Puerto Rico), and donated time and work during the 2007's Vivencial Pictórico de Escape (Convento Los Dominicos, Old San Juan), as well as donating a painting for the Muscular Distrophy Association's 2007 Black and Blue Gala, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. (Isla Verde, Puerto Rico).
Tere Sanz is represented by Duey: Galería de Arte, a respected and widely known art gallery ranked among the best on the island.
